Pace of Play

These suggestions below can help prevent slow play.

  • Plan your shot  and club to be used while briskly walking to your ball.

  • Develop an "eye" for distance.

  • Play Ready Golf - if you are ready to play your shot - play it - don't wait if someone is not ready and you're ready.

  • Take only one practice swing.

  • Walk directly to your golf ball; don't follow others unless assisting in a search.

  • Line up your putt when others are putting and be ready to putt when it is your turn.

  • Leave your clubs on the side of the putting green towards the next tee.

  • Exit putting green promptly after holing out.

  • If riding, take several clubs with you to your ball so you won't have to walk back to the cart.
  • Play a provisional ball if you think the original might be lost outside a water hazard or out of bounds.

  • Remember we are playing golf and we are not 'fishing', so do not spend time in the water hazards looking for balls.  Retreive your ball, if you can, and move on.
